Terms & Conditions

Last updated: October 11, 2026

These terms apply to all Paint with Jen public paint classes and private events. By booking, you agree to them. Questions? Email jen@paintwithjen.net.

Who Can Attend

  • Guests must be 21 or older unless the event listing states otherwise.
  • Some venue events are open to guests 18 and older. These are listed as “18+ event, 21+ to drink,” and only guests 21 and older may drink.
  • If a listing allows guests under 18, they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the entire event.
  • We don’t host children’s or youth parties.

Alcohol

  • Paint with Jen does not sell or serve alcohol.
  • At public classes, the host venue sells and serves all drinks under its own permits. Outside alcohol isn’t allowed.
  • At private events, the host may allow guests to bring their own drinks. The host is responsible for alcohol service, making sure only guests 21 and older drink, and following North Carolina law.

Conduct

We or the venue may refuse service or ask a guest to leave for intoxication, underage drinking, disruptive behavior, or breaking these terms. Guests asked to leave don’t receive a refund or credit.

Payment and Discounts

  • Public classes: full payment is due at booking. Your seat isn’t held until payment is received.
  • Private events: a $100 deposit is due at booking, and the balance is due 7 days before the event.
  • One discount code per booking. Codes have no cash value and may be used with sale prices.
  • Billing questions: please email jen@paintwithjen.net before disputing a charge with your bank.

Arrival

  • Plan to arrive 30–45 minutes before a public class to settle in, grab an apron, and order food and drinks.
  • Classes start on time. If you arrive late, we’ll help you catch up, but the class can’t run past its scheduled end.

Guest Cancellations and Transfers

  • We don’t offer cash or card refunds for guest cancellations.
  • Cancel 24 hours or more before the event: you’ll receive a credit toward a future event or a move to another date. Credits are valid for 6 months from the date issued and apply to events of equal or lesser value.
  • Cancel less than 24 hours before, or don’t show up: your spot and all payments are forfeited, with no credit.
  • Transfers: you can give your spot to someone else at no charge with at least 24 hours’ notice. The new guest must meet the age requirements.
  • Send all cancellation and transfer requests to jen@paintwithjen.net. Notice is counted from when we receive your email.

Cancellations by Paint with Jen

  • We may need to cancel an event due to low enrollment, weather, illness, or other circumstances beyond our control.
  • If we cancel, you’ll receive a full refund of all payments made, including private event deposits. You’re always welcome to rebook a future event.
  • We’ll notify guests by email (and text, if a phone number was provided) as soon as possible. Cancellations for low enrollment will be made at least 24 hours before the event.
  • Refunds go back to your original payment method. Your bank may take several business days to post them.

Private Events

  • Private events are billed for a minimum of 15 guests, even if fewer attend.
  • Your final guest count is due 7 days before the event. There are no refunds or credits if fewer guests attend.
  • Guests may be added up to 24 hours before the event, depending on supplies, but not on the day of the event.
  • If your group isn’t ready within 30 minutes of the start time, the event still ends on schedule and the full price applies.
  • Travel fees may apply depending on location.
  • Custom designs: choose a painting from our gallery, or send an inspiration image for a custom design. Custom requests are due at least 3–4 weeks before the event. Custom designs are an additional charge, quoted when you request one.

Event Space (Private Events)

  • The host provides the space, tables and chairs, adequate lighting, and access to an electrical outlet if needed for lighting.
  • The host is responsible for any damage to the space and for guest behavior.
  • If the venue cancels, we’ll work with you to find a new date or space, or issue a full refund if that doesn’t work for you.

Outdoor Events

  • We recommend a covered backup space for outdoor events.
  • If weather (such as rain, high wind, or extreme heat) makes painting unsafe or impractical, we’ll work with you to move the event indoors. If that isn’t possible, we’ll cancel and issue a full refund.

Artwork and Designs

You keep the painting you create. Our designs and step-by-step instructions belong to Paint with Jen and may not be reproduced, taught, or sold.

Photos

We may take photos during events to share on our website and social media. If you’d prefer not to be photographed, just let us know at the start of the event. Minors won’t be shown in an identifiable way without a parent’s permission.

Liability

Painting involves some risks, such as paint staining clothing or belongings. Paint with Jen isn’t liable for injury, loss, or damage except in cases of gross negligence. Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for the event.

General

These terms are governed by North Carolina law. We may update them from time to time; the version in effect when you booked applies to your booking.
